Bear Area
Forest edge · levels 13–20 · Early-mid game
The level 13 hunting ground: Tom gives the bear quests at 13 and the Mother Bear fight at 18. Low-tier demons in the cave beneath the Mother Bear area drop Demon Horns — the other core breathing material — and Wagwan stands under the waterfall below for the level 40 guard quests. Routes leave from here for Iceveil Valley, the Thunder climb and the Stone Sanctuary.
How to get to Bear Area

Bear Area FAQ
Where do Demon Horns drop?
From the demons in the cave beneath the Mother Bear area. Community reports cite the Hoyuzo subordinates at a 30% chance of one horn and the Hoyuzo boss at 50% for three.
Which trainers are near here?
Stone (Gyorei) on the lower route and Thunder (Zentaro) on the climb beyond — both branch off from the bear area.
Which NPCs are at Bear Area?
Tom (Bear quests at 13, Mother Bear at 18); Wagwan (Guard quests from level 40, under the waterfall).
Is Bear Area worth farming?
Mostly for the trainer: Stone Breathing (Gyorei) and Thunder Breathing (Zentaro) unlock here. Otherwise the value is the mob level band (13–20) and the boss drops.
What level should I be before coming to Bear Area?
Bear Area is built for levels 13–20. Below that range, kills are slow and deaths are frequent; well above it, the mobs stop paying useful experience. The one exception: material farming and boss hunts are level-agnostic reasons to visit — the Beast Cores at Mistfall Harbor and the Demon Horns under the Bear Area stay relevant long after their mobs stop paying EXP.
How does Bear Area connect to the rest of the map?
Follow the route out of Windy Peak toward the bears. Fast travel shrines and a horse (reported 15,000 Wen each) cut the repeat trips — see the leveling guide's travel section for the full loop.
Where to go after Bear Area
Mistfall Harbor (10–25) · Bamboo Grove (13–25) · Iceveil Valley (90–115)
Farming and levelling at Bear Area
Bear Area carries 1 reported boss spawn, which makes it part of the standard boss farming loop. The area is built for levels 13–20: arriving under that range means slower kills and more deaths, arriving well over it means the mobs no longer pay useful experience. Match your time here to the quest markers — every named NPC with a quest line is listed above.
How Bear Area fits the world route
The Bear Area is where early builds are actually made: Tom's bear quests pay the levels, and the cave beneath drops the Demon Horns most breathing styles charge for. It is also the route hub — the Thunder climb, the Stone Sanctuary and the snowy road to Iceveil Valley all branch from here. Wagwan's level 40 guard quests bring mid-game players back.
Quest chains and economy at Bear Area
The NPC roster is the reason to detour here: Tom (bear quests at 13, mother bear at 18), Wagwan (guard quests from level 40, under the waterfall). Every named NPC marks a quest, a shop or a material source — talking to each one on your first visit is the cheapest way to unlock the services you will need later, because quest handoffs gate content in Slayers 2 more often than levels do. Boss farming note: Mother Bear — add it to your loop rather than making dedicated trips.
