Slayers 2 Breathing Styles
Slayers 2 launched with eight breathing styles. Every style unlocks at level 25 on the slayer path from its own trainer NPC, for a Wen fee of 3,500 to 7,000 plus demon horns and beast cores. If you are wondering what the best breathing in Slayers 2 is, the honest answer is that Thunder leads the PvP consensus while Wind has climbed the fastest after the V0.2 buffs — read the reasoning under each style instead of trusting a single tier letter.

How to get a breathing style in Slayers 2
The unlock flow is the same for every style: reach level 25 on the slayer path, farm the materials before you leave (or you walk back for them), find the trainer, pay the fee, then clear the training tasks. Reaching the NPC alone does not finish the training.
| Step | Task | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Meditation | Butterfly Mansion, second-room mat. Click each time the moving bar crosses the white marker until the meter fills. |
| 2 | Cup Training | Butterfly Mansion, third-room mat. Pick the cup hiding the coin 10 times — a wrong pick costs one of three lives and the shuffle speeds up each round. |
| 3 | Push Ups | Butterfly Mansion, push-up mat. Click each white circle as the inner ring touches its edge. Standing up with a red aura means the set failed. |
| 4 | Aim Training | Butterfly Mansion, shooting range. Click the targets as they pop up on the boards. |
| 5 | Field task | Varies by style (Boulder Split, parkour dungeon, underwater rocks…). Each style has one field task before the final fight — follow the quest marker. |
| 6 | Trainee fight | Your trainer's training ground. Beat the style's Trainee NPC to unlock the style, then spend skill points on its forms in the Skill Tree. |
Where the materials drop
- Beast Cores — Beast Demons at the Mistfall Harbor village gate (night).
- Demon Horns — Demons in the cave beneath the Bear Area; community reports cite the Hoyuzo boss's subordinates at a 30% chance of one horn and the boss itself at 50% for three.
- Axe and Mace set — Stone Breathing only — reported 15% drop from the Stone Trainee.
How breathing styles work
Breathing is the slayer path's combat kit. Each style gives you five forms bound to Z, X, C, V and B on separate cooldowns, a passive stat lean (speed for Thunder, damage for Flame, defence for Stone) and a look. You keep your clan passives and weapon on top of it, which is why clan and style pairings matter — each style page lists the clans that suit it. Demons cannot learn breathing; their answer is the blood demon arts.
Switching styles
Switching costs another full fee and a reset — decide with the tier reasoning first, then commit. The BREATHRESET code resets your breathing without a path switch, and the trainer fees above are per style.
Breathing styles FAQ
What is the best breathing style in Slayers 2?
Thunder leads the PvP consensus (S on 3 of 5 published lists) — Thunderclap and Flash is the fastest gap closer in the game. Wind has the strongest recent trend after the V0.2 buffs. Water is the safest all-round first pick for new players. Sound is the most contested style on tier lists, having swung between S and B across patches. The honest answer: the best style is the one whose playstyle you execute well — a B-tier style played to its strengths beats an S-tier style played against them.
How much does it cost to get a breathing style?
Between 3,500 Wen (Insect) and 7,000 Wen (Thunder) per style, plus Demon Horns and/or Beast Cores. Serpent charges no Wen at all — its bill is 20 horns and 5 cores. Stone is the oddest: 4,000 Wen plus the Axe and Mace set (a reported 15% drop from the Stone Trainee). Full table above.
Can you learn more than one breathing style?
One at a time. Switching costs the new style's full fee plus a reset, so most players commit to a single style. The BREATHRESET code resets breathing without a path switch, which makes a deliberate re-roll cheaper than it used to be.
What level do you unlock breathing in Slayers 2?
Level 25 on the slayer path. Demons cannot learn breathing at any level — their equivalent is the random blood demon art roll after conversion.
Where are the breathing trainers?
All over the map: Obari (Serpent) is the closest at Windy Peak's cliff, Rengu (Flame) is one area away at Mistfall Harbor, and Tengai (Sound) and Saneri (Wind) are the deepest trips — both in the snow biome. Full directions with routes on the trainer locations guide.
Do breathing styles stack with clan bonuses?
Yes — that is the whole pairing system. Style-specific clans multiply the matching style's damage (Agatsuma on Thunder, Iguro on Serpent, Kocho on Insect, Shinazugawa on Wind), while neutral clans (Kamado, Uzui, Rengoku's raw damage) work with anything. Match the clan to the style before you commit the fee.
Which breathing is best for PvE farming?
Sound is the classic pack-clear answer — its AoE forms hit multiple demons, which is what quest farming is. Flame is the boss-farming pick for raw single-target numbers, and Water is the dependable middle ground. Wind's post-V0.2 form makes it a dark horse for wave clear.
