Slayers 2 Final Selection Guide

Final Selection is the slayer path's rite of passage in Slayers 2 — the exam that turns you from a trainee into a full Demon Slayer. It is not one fight but a chain of quest objectives across the wisteria mountain, run under a gate timer, ending with the Hand Demon. Here is the entry requirement, the full quest order, what to bring and what passing pays.

Requirements

How the opening timer works

Entry opens when the countdown above the gate reaches zero. Guides disagree on the cycle — reports range from every hour on the :00 mark to roughly every two hours — so treat the displayed countdown as the only truth and arrive several minutes early. Missing the window means waiting out a full cycle at the gate or farming nearby. The event itself then runs on its own timer: survive and complete the objectives before it expires.

How to get there

From Mistfall Harbor, cross the long bridge to Butterfly Estate, take the long southern bridge toward the Final Selection Plains, then follow the path northeast to the gate. The route runs past purple wisteria trees — the stairs behind them lead to the gate NPCs and the countdown.

The nine-step quest order

Every objective must be completed in sequence — you cannot pre-collect later items or skip to the boss. Several stages require returning to the original giver, so a stage isn't done until the game advances the objective.

1

The Sisters · Start the trial

Speak to the entrance sisters and confirm the first objective is active. This is also where you finish after the final boss — do not leave early.

2

Rem · Collect the fruit

Find an apple, banana and grapes on the rocky ledges. Sweep in one circular loop; demons patrol between the pickups.

3

Vael · Defeat 5 lesser demons

Stay inside the quest zone and return to Vael when your counter hits five. Solo, avoid pulling multiple demons; in a group, focus the same target.

4

Klien · Recover the katana

The lost Nichirin Katana is behind your direction of travel — double back and check the lower ground. Trust the waypoint over your sense of progress.

5

Rika & Klien · Buy and apply the bandage

Buy a Bandage from Rika (guides report 25–115 Wen — check the displayed price), return it to Klien, then hold the cursor inside the moving circle for the Steady Hands minigame (~18 seconds of small corrections).

6

Mizuto · Pond key

Dive at the marked pond, defeat Lost in the submerged chamber, open the chest and take the Submerged Key. The confined space limits escape routes — don't waste stamina on long attack strings.

7

Mizuto · Parkour dungeon

The key opens a dungeon with reported three lives and lever counts of 1, 3 and 2 across its sections. Activate every lever before moving on; a closed gate means a missed lever, not a broken run. Normal climbing can be restricted — Double Jump timing matters.

8

Lavato · Mountain survival

A timed run through four checkpoints. Look for the next marker before committing a dash or jump — a missed checkpoint costs more than a careful line.

9

Levi · Rescue and escort

Clear the required area, take the civilian to the destination and handle whatever interrupts the hand-off. Keep stamina in reserve for repositioning.

10

Steve · Defeat the Hand Demon

The exam boss, reported around 1,300 HP. When summoned enemies interrupt the damage phase, clear them before returning to the boss.

11

The Sisters · Claim completion

Return and finish the dialogue. Defeating the Hand Demon and walking away can skip the reward hand-in — finish the loop.

Preparation checklist

Rewards

Passing grants the Mizunoto rank, the Slayer Uniform, a Kasugai Crow and Ore (some runs also report Crude Iron). The rank is the gate to the mid-game: Crow quest assignments from level 45+ become the backbone of progression to 225, and the level 65 forge quest that unlocks the Ouwigahara dungeon sits right behind it. Do the exam as soon as your build is honestly ready — it is the cheapest progression gate in the game.

Demon path?

Final Selection is slayer-only. If you're going demon, you skip it entirely — see how to become a demon and demon or slayer before choosing.

Quest order and details are community-reported (walkthroughs cross-checked September-October 2026); objective wording and the opening cycle can change with updates.
