How to Become a Demon in Slayers 2
The demon path trades breathing styles for blood demon arts. It's a real commitment: the conversion quest chain has several gates, community sources describe the reversal as paid or quest-gated, and you lose access to breathing and Final Selection. Here is the full tested route, with the parts guides disagree on flagged honestly.
Requirements
- Reputation at -40 — community reports consistently describe defeating 40 ordinary civilian NPCs in the starting village to reach it (an older -50 figure circulates; -40 is what current players report working). Every 10 negative points can trigger a Muzan dialogue beat — at -40 he tells you to seek him out.
- Watch the NPC names — only unmarked "Civilian" NPCs count. Starred names belong to quests, and attacking them can break quest lines you will want later.
- Wall Climb and Double Jump — the doctor's location and the hideout approach both need them. Unlock both early from the skill tree.
- Night time — both Muzan and the hideout approach run on the night cycle. Server-hop if you miss the window.
- Sun protection (recommended) — after conversion, daylight burns. The Kamado clan's Sun Immunity passive is the cleanest answer; a Sun Hat from the rotating clothing shop is the reported alternative, but stock is not guaranteed.
Step 1: Find Muzan at night
Muzan does not stand in one place — he patrols. Community reports converge on three search areas:
- Mistfall Harbor — around Ginzo's loot stand and the adjoining ramps. The easiest terrain and no cold damage.
- The snow village (Iceveil Valley) — around the Clothing Shop and the Tengai boss area. Reports suggest more frequent sightings here, but the cold drains health — enter with protection or expect a shorter search window.
- Hidden Mist Village — the lower wooden paths beneath the fog.
A practical loop: set your spawn in the snow village, sweep Muzan's patrol for about five minutes, then check the Mistfall route — and server-hop at night if neither shows. A recorded sighting is not a fixed coordinate; he moves between checks.
Step 2: Nine Spider Lilies
Muzan's quest asks for nine Spider Lilies. Community routes concentrate them around the Bamboo Grove area and the central map — one documented cluster sits near the water trainer's passage, with more along bridge and gate paths. Two useful facts from players: other people cannot take your lilies unless they are on the same demon quest, and a private server makes the sweep easier if public players keep beating you to spawns. Count with the quest counter — visiting a spot is not collecting.
Step 3: The doctor escort
The final stage is a protect mission: reach Dr. Higoshima in Hidden Mist Village (the elevated area where Wall Climb earns its keep), then escort or carry the objective to the destination while enemies spawn in. The community-tested approach: clear mobs ahead of the escort rather than trailing it — the mission fails if the NPC dies, and running past spawned enemies is often faster than fighting everything. When the hand-in completes, drink the Muzan Blood he gives you. Your character converts on the spot.
Step 4: Roll your Blood Demon Art
After conversion, ring the Biwa Bell to enter the lair and choose "Give me your power." The art roll is random — community reports describe spins that return nothing at all, and new demons are said to receive a few free attempts. Keep S and A tier arts from the demon art tier list (Shockwave and Ice are the keeps) and reroll the rest with spins from codes. Then activate the art's orb and complete its training quest — the documented Dream route ran meditation, cup tracking, aim practice and five slayer kills, but not every art's training is confirmed identical.
After conversion: what changes
- You lose access to breathing styles, slayer trainers and Final Selection — permanently until a paid/quest reset (reported).
- You gain a Blood Demon Art, faster regeneration and demon-only progression (souls from defeated NPCs raise demon stages, granting reported health and damage at higher tiers).
- Sunlight becomes a hazard in some areas — plan night travel or secure Sun Immunity.
- Your clan and its passives carry over. Kamado is the standout demon clan (Sun Immunity plus the demon-only Regen Adrenal); Douma (combo escapes, Evil Art mastery) and Shabana (party zone, poison M1s) are the other demon-leaning picks.
- Demons cannot learn breathing, so your art plus clan passives plus a fighting style (Soryu at 65) is your whole kit.
Can you go back to slayer?
Reverting is reported to require a paid or quest-based reset — treat the switch as expensive and effectively one-way. Decide before you invest: the Demon or Slayer comparison weighs progression speed, PvP ceiling and grind cost for both paths. Note that the ARTRESET and BREATHRESET codes reset your art or style without a full path switch — useful mid-course corrections that stop short of converting back.
Demon conversion FAQ
How long does the demon conversion take?
The reputation grind dominates: defeating 40 civilian NPCs is an evening's work if you focus it, and the Muzan search adds however long his patrol takes to find (community reports suggest five-minute sweeps across two areas, server-hopping as needed). The lilies and escort are one more session. Most players convert within two to three focused sessions.
Can I become a demon at a low level?
Yes — reputation is the gate, not level. Community reports describe conversions from around level 4-5 (the guide minimum is enough skill points for Wall Climb and Double Jump). The trade-off: a low-level demon faces the art roll and training quest with a weak kit, so many players convert early but delay the art training until their combat catches up.
What happens to my breathing progress if I convert?
You lose it. Breathing styles, their forms and slayer trainers all become inaccessible — and reversing the path later is reported to require a paid or quest-based reset. The BREATHRESET code only resets breathing within the slayer path; it does not protect you from conversion.
Do I keep my clan when I become a demon?
Yes — clan passives carry over unchanged. Kamado is the standout (Sun Immunity plus the demon-only Regen Adrenal), Douma gains value through Evil Art mastery, and Shabana's poison M1s pair with demon farming. Style-specific clan bonuses (Agatsuma's Thunder factors, for example) stop mattering because demons don't use breathing.
Where exactly does Muzan spawn?
Three reported patrol areas, all at night: around Ginzo and the ramps at Mistfall Harbor, around the Clothing Shop and Tengai boss area in the snow village, and on the lower wooden paths of Hidden Mist Village. He moves between checks — a recorded sighting is not a fixed coordinate. Server-hop at night if a sweep comes up empty.
Is becoming a demon worth it?
It depends on what you want: Shockwave (the only S-tier art), the highest weapon damage ceiling (reported), Soryu, and night-play fantasy — versus simpler, predictable builds with Final Selection and the documented quest route. The full trade-off table is in the demon-or-slayer guide.
Steps and values are community-reported (guides cross-checked September-October 2026). Muzan's patrol points and reputation thresholds can change with updates.
