Slayers 2: Best Blood Demon Art
Short answer: Shockwave is the best blood demon art in Slayers 2 (Tier S on all four tracked tier lists), with Ice as the best safe keep. But "best" depends on what you rolled and how you play — demons don't choose their art, they roll it. Here is the full reasoning, art by art, plus what to do with each roll.
How demon art rolls work
After converting on the demon path, you ring the Biwa Bell and choose "Give me your power." The art is random: nine arts are in the pool, community reports describe spins that return nothing at all, and rolling a new art replaces your current one. Free spins come from codes and levels, and the ARTRESET code gives a free reset when you want to burn a bad roll. There is no pity system — know your target before you spin.
The keeps
Shockwave 破 — Tier S
The close-range PvP king and the only S-tier art. Melee burst with knockback, fast combos, and it tracks dodges well — the official launch showcase demonstrated its full moveset (Compass Needle, Disorder, Air Type, Annihilation Type). The Soyama clan pairing is the strongest documented duel combo on the demon path. Keep it, always.
Ice 氷 — Tier A
Control plus damage without a build requirement: freeze stun on most moves (Frozen Lotus, Ice Pillars, Crystalline Divine Child, Scattering Lotus Blizzard) and huge area coverage that carries dungeons. It was S-tier in September snapshots before balance passes trimmed it — either way, absolutely stop rerolling if it comes.
Situational keeps
- Reaper (A) — fast melee strings and long combos on bosses. No utility, and Shockwave outclasses it in the same niche, but it beats a reroll if you died less farming with it. Wielder attribution is still unconfirmed in the community. (Don't confuse it with the level 100 Reaper fighting style — different unlock, same name.)
- Arrow (A) — knockback control (Arrow Push, Arrow Pull, Vector Slam) that can throw enemies off ledges, and Arrow Flight deals a reported 35% more PvE damage since V0.182. Good only in specific weapon combo routes; reroll if you want raw damage. Yahaba or Susamaru party members make it real.
- Explosive Blood (B) — the farming art: area burn (Blood Burst, Exploding Blood Slash, Pyrokinetic Wave) that clears packs fast, with V0.182 buffing its dashes and exits. Low single-target damage and slow moves keep it out of the keeps, but grind-heavy demons should think twice before rerolling it.
- Blood Sickles (B) — the most split art on tier lists: S during the September snapshot, B after the nerf. Ranged poke with a poison-like bleed (Flying Blood Sickles, Rampant Arc Slash, Blood Sickle Rain) and a safe kiting playstyle, but weak up close and its projectiles can be dodged. In groups that punish its bleed windows it still plays like an S-tier art.
- Dream (B) — sleep crowd control (Whispered Sleep, Dream Tendrils, Nightmare Bind) that sets up free combos and is genuinely annoying to fight. V0.182 improved its Z damage and X scaling against NPCs. Low direct damage means it needs a follow-up to kill — control mains keep it, everyone else rerolls.
The rerolls
- Tamari (B) — the community consensus reroll: lowest damage of the launch arts (Tamari Throw, Six-Arm Volley, Ricochet) and easy to dodge. The one exception is a Susamaru party build, where Tamari Regen stacks with the party buff.
- Obi (C) — bottom of the current median despite real buffs: Z, X and C apply much stronger guard pressure since V0.182, the V traps activate faster and hit harder, and the ultimate cannot be interrupted. PGG's V0.2 notes even describe Obi in S. But every ranker docks it for its floor — long reach, low damage, easy to read — and it demands more practice than any other art to make work. Technical duelists only.
The quick decision table
| You rolled | Verdict | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shockwave | Keep, always | Only S art; strongest melee kit |
| Ice | Keep | Freeze control + area damage, no build requirement |
| Reaper / Arrow | Keep if it fits | Boss combos / weapon routes + party synergy |
| Explosive Blood | Keep for farmers | Best pack clear on the demon path |
| Dream / Blood Sickles | Situational | Control setups / ranged group play |
| Tamari | Reroll | Weakest launch art unless running Susamaru parties |
| Obi | Reroll (usually) | Highest practice floor; only for technical duelists |
How to reroll
Grab the ARTRESET code from the codes page before spending spins — it resets your Evil Art for free. Then roll from the same "Give me your power" menu; remember each roll replaces the old art, so don't reset a workable art before you have spins to chase a specific upgrade. Full rankings and move lists on the demon arts tier list, and the clan pairings that boost each art are on its detail page.
Rankings reflect the cross-source median plus V0.2-era patch notes (October 2026); the meta shifts with every balance pass.
